Our coordinators, translators, and checkers work together seamlessly to provide service finely tuned to your needs, leveraging the unique insights we have gained since our founding in 1988.

We offer the following three levels of translation service.

  • Draft Translation
    : Translation + Simplified check
    (scanning for mistranslations, typos, etc.)

    This option is designed for jobs that need to be done quickly under a tight budget.

  • Standard Translation
    : Translation + Check + Research

    This, our most popular service level, offers top-notch translations crafted by a team of highly experienced translators and checkers.

  • Quality Translation
    : Translation + Check + Research + Editing

    Our highest level of service is the choice for corporate brochures, publications, lecture manuscripts, and other materials whose purpose demands sophistication and gravitas.

  1. Client requests an estimate

  2. Client supplies the manuscript

    Client supplies the manuscript

    • Please contact us before sending files exceeding 10 MB.

    • If the manuscript is on paper (a printout, publication, etc.), please either submit a scanned copy as indicated above, or send the original or a photocopy to our Tokyo office by mail.

    • Let us know if a confidentiality agreement needs to be made concerning handling of the manuscript.

  3. We select the translator/proofreader and set a delivery date

    After reviewing your request and the manuscript, we select the translator/proofreader best suited for the job and set a delivery date.
    EXIM International keeps a registry of only highly experienced and capable professionals, who are classified according to their languages and fields of expertise. When selecting a translator/proofreader from the registry, we look for the individual most qualified to meets the requirements of the job.
    A proposed delivery date is selected based on the client’s wishes, the workload, and the nature of the request. The turnaround time varies depending on the languages and field of expertise involved, but the following example provides a general idea of when delivery can be expected.

    Translation from Japanese to English, 10 pages (1 page = 400 Japanese characters)

    • As a draft translation: 2–3 business days after commissioning
    • As a standard translation: 4–5 business days after commissioning
  4. From estimate to delivery

    We provide you with an estimate listing the service fee and delivery date.
    Work begins as soon as you commission the job, and the finished product is sent to you by the delivery date.
